Upgrade, downgrade or cancel your plan

Change your Releaseo plan, complete secure checkout, switch billing cycle, cancel a subscription and understand upgrade prompts.

Plan changes happen on the Billing page. This article covers switching plans, what checkout looks like, cancelling, and the upgrade prompts you may see elsewhere. To compare plans, see "Pick the right plan". For limits, see "Plan limits and usage", and for receipts, "Invoices and receipts".

Open the Billing page

  • From Settings, Plan and usage, select View plans.

  • Or open Billing from your account menu, or the Billing section of the Organization console.

Only people with billing management permission can change a plan. Everyone else sees subscription and invoice details, with a note that their role can't change billing. If you can't change the plan, ask an organization owner.

Read your subscription summary

The top card shows your plan name, a status badge, the price per month or year, and Cancels at period end if a cancellation is scheduled. Below it you'll see Status, Billing cycle, Renewal and, when payment has failed, Grace ends.

Two buttons help when something looks out of date:

  • Refresh status re-checks your subscription with the payment provider.

  • Customer portal opens the provider's portal, where payment methods, address and detailed receipts are managed.

If a payment fails, a warning explains that paid features stay active until the grace period ends. If billing is restricted, paid features are restricted until billing is restored.

Upgrade or change plan

  1. In the Change plan card, pick Monthly or Annual.

  2. Select a plan card. Your current plan is marked Current plan, and one plan carries a Most popular ribbon. Each card lists its included features and limits, such as members and projects.

  3. Continue:

    • If you don't have a paid subscription yet, select Continue to checkout.

    • If you already have one, Releaseo previews the change first. The summary shows either a charge or a credit, for example Charge today (prorated), Credit today (prorated), or a note that the adjustment lands on your next invoice. Select Confirm change.

  4. In the confirmation, review the text and select Pay & apply (when a charge is due today) or Apply change.

The amount comes from the payment provider's preview, not a local estimate. If the amount changes before you confirm, Releaseo refreshes the preview and asks you to review it again. Your plan's features change immediately when the change is applied. Downgrades use the same flow, and any credit appears as the preview describes.

Switching between monthly and annual billing uses the same steps.

Complete checkout

Checkout opens on its own page with an order summary and a progress card (Choose plan, payment, Confirm subscription).

  1. Enter your payment details in the secure payment form. Card details are processed and stored by Paddle, and Releaseo never sees your full card number.

  2. Wait for Payment received. Your subscription activates automatically.

  3. Select Back to billing to return.

Only one checkout can be active for your organization at a time. If you come back to an unfinished checkout, Releaseo resumes the same one instead of starting a second charge. To pick a different plan or billing cycle, select Cancel checkout (or Cancel active checkout on the Billing page) and confirm. A payment that has already started processing can't be cancelled. In that case, wait, then use Refresh status.

If you see a message that checkout couldn't continue, return to billing and start again.

Cancel your subscription

  1. On the Billing page, find Subscription controls.

  2. Select Cancel subscription and confirm. To keep it, choose Keep subscription.

Your subscription keeps working until the end of the current billing period, and the page shows the date. Cancelling doesn't automatically issue a refund. Eligible first-subscription refunds are covered by the Refund Policy.

Upgrade prompts in the product

When a feature isn't in your plan, Releaseo tells you where you hit the limit instead of failing silently. Examples:

  • The Features card in Plan and usage marks each feature Available or Not in plan.

  • Settings, Localization explains that content localization isn't included in your plan, and suggests upgrading when you reach your language limit.

  • Some settings, such as Live chat teams, ask you to contact an organization owner to upgrade.

  • The Organization console is offered only on plans that support multiple applications.

Use View plans from Plan and usage to act on any of these.
