Audience targeting for changelog posts

Not every release matters to every user. Audience targeting lets you scope a post to exactly the segment that should see it.

Three audience modes

  • All users. Default. Shown to everyone who opens your widget.

  • Saved segment. Pick a published segment (Pro plan, admins, EU users, etc.). The segment is snapshotted at publish time.

  • Custom condition. Build a one-off filter directly on the post.

Examples that work

  • Pro plan only: plan = pro

  • Admin-only feature: role = admin

  • EU-region announcement: country in [DE, FR, ES, IT]

  • Power users who'll care: activeMonths >= 6 AND eventsLast30d > 100

Audience preview before you publish

The compose screen shows you "this will reach approximately N users" based on identified users in your widget. Always check it before scheduling.

What unidentified users see

If a user hasn't been identified, they're treated as anonymous and see only All users posts. If you target a segment, that post stays invisible to them.
