📧 Email Subscribers + SMTP Setup — Now Fully Integrated

You can now collect email subscribers and send them notifications through your own SMTP server — all from one place.

What's New

  • Subscriber Email Collection: Add a subscription form to your public changelog page so visitors can opt in to receive updates via email

  • Custom SMTP Configuration: Connect your own email server to ensure deliverability and brand consistency

  • Unified Setup: Both features are configured together in one streamlined settings flow

How to Set It Up

  1. Go to Settings in your Releaseo dashboard

  2. Navigate to the Notifications or Email section

  3. Enable the Subscriber Email option — this activates the subscription widget on your public changelog page

  4. Enter your SMTP credentials: Host, Port, Username, Password, and Sender Email

  5. Click Save & Test Connection to verify your SMTP settings are working correctly

  6. That's it — subscribers will now receive an email every time you publish a new changelog update

Why It Matters

Keeping your users in the loop is the fastest way to build trust and reduce churn. With subscriber emails powered by your own SMTP, every update lands directly in your users' inboxes — branded, reliable, and on time. No third-party email tool required.

💡 Tip: Use a dedicated transactional email provider (e.g., SendGrid, Mailgun, or Postmark) as your SMTP server for best deliverability results.
